As part of Larchmont Imaging continuous effort to provide our referring physicians and patients with the most advance technology, Larchmont Imaging offers PACS (or Picture Archiving Communication system) which allows viewing, reading and archiving of all of our digital modalities. PACS provides immediate access to patient images and facilitates interpretation for the reading radiologist. Because the images can immediately be reviewed in any of our offices, we can assure that difficult cases are reviewed by our best subspecialty radiologists. Comparison with previous studies is also facilitated as all prior exams in the PACS system are immediately available to compare to a new study.
As part of our effort to improve our services to referring physicians, we have also implemented a secure WEB based server that allows referring clinicians to view exams. Physicians who have an account with us can securely review their patient's reports and images from any location.
PACS also provides us with the capability of burning CDs (compact disc) containing patient images and reports. This can be particularly useful as it allows referring physicians and patients to receive a copy of multiple radiology studies on one CD, which reduces the need for films and makes viewing large number of images easier.
